Do not always trust your senses!

We see the world through our five senses right?  Well what if they decieved us and didn’t show us the whole picture…

I was at the beach yesterday for a short meditation and started to notice a seagull flying out towards the ocean.  The gull kept to a straight flight pattern and soon I had trouble distinguishing him from the sky until eventually he disappeared.

But the truth is he was still out there somewhere - I just couldn’t see him.  I then started to think how this may be applicable to my life.  Have you ever been striving to achieve more happiness and felt discouraged?   We may not always be able to see it in the distance but it does not mean that it’s not there.  I’ve felt the uneasiness of not knowing how we’re going to make it happen but then something out of the blue comes to fruition that I never saw coming.

Focus on the ‘what’ with belief and conviction and the ‘how’ will take care of itself…of course not without some effort on your part, but if you are working towards something that excites you - then getting there is an enjoyable journey.

So remember, just because you can’t perceive something, does not mean that it’s not in the horizon of your life, it just requires you to focus your attention on it some more before it materializes.
